FNJ 2025: Transfer to Praia Motivated by Lack of Accommodation in Boa Vista – Minister

Praia, 21 Nov (Inforpress) – The Minister of Youth and Sports, Carlos Monteiro, explained today that the transfer of the 2025 National Youth Forum to Praia resulted from high tourist occupancy in Boa Vista, making accommodation unavailable for participants.

Carlos Monteiro, speaking to Inforpress during the second day of the National Youth Forum, clarified that all accommodations — from resorts to small hotels — are fully booked, including short-term rental units through platforms such as Airbnb.

Monteiro stressed that even with the financial support provided to young people to cover lodging costs, it would be impossible to ensure they could find a place to stay.

“We could not let young people arrive at Boa Vista airport and have nowhere to stay (…) it’s the reality of the island; it is completely full right now,” he stated.
