Praia, Oct 6 (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean football team leaves Lisbon today for Libya, where it will play, this Wednesday, the 8th, the ninth and penultimate round of Group D of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
According to the schedule set by Cabo Verde's national team coach, Pedro Brito, better known as Bubista, the “Tubarões Azuis”, as the national team is known, will hold one more training session on Portuguese territory with the selected players before travelling to Tripoli.
Bubista considers this to be a decisive match for Cabo Verde's qualification for the 2026 World Cup, since, in the event of a victory, or a result identical to that of Cameroon, its closest rival, the Creole team will secure its place in the World Cup with one match remaining.
The Libya vs Cabo Verde game will be played at the Tripoli International Stadium in the city of Tripoli at 15:00 (12:00 CV).
