Cidade da Praia, 1 September (Inforpress) – The second edition of the Tour de Santiago 2025 kicks off on 5 September, with 24 athletes from various islands, promising to boost national cycling through three stages.

The vice-president of the Regional Cycling Association of Santiago South (ARCSS), Paulo Canuto, told Inforpress that the Tour de Santiago 2025 will feature 24 athletes, including 18 elite and six under-23 riders, from almost all the islands except Boa Vista, Maio and Brava.

According to the organiser, this second edition, which will cover a total distance of 228 kilometres (km) and 4,041 metres of accumulated elevation gain, is an opportunity to consolidate the growth of the sport in Cabo Verde.

‘We believe that this type of competition is also a motivation, and is already an annual goal for some athletes,’ he said.
