Mosteiros: City Council and government sign agreement to resume and complete urban asphalting

São Filipe, Aug 4 (Inforpress) - The city council of Mosteiros and the government have reached an agreement for the resumption and conclusion of the contract to asphalt six kilometres of urban roads in the municipality, an investment of around 180,000 escudos.

The agreement was reached following a meeting held in Praia among the Mayor of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Infrastructure, Territorial Spatial Planning and Housing, as well as the President of Cabo Verde Roads.

The work, which began in October 2023 from the town of Fajãzinha towards the city of Igreja, was suspended in February 2024 due to disagreements between the municipality and the Government.

With the new understanding, the work will be resumed in a coordinated manner and should be completed by the end of 2025, according to statements by the mayor of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira.
