Swimming: Cabo Verde sets two national records at the World Aquatics Championships

Praia, July 30 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde competed again today at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, achieving two new national records and the best individual classification in its history.

According to the secretary of the Cape Verdean Swimming Federation (FECAN), Enrique Alhinho, who spoke to Inforpress, the day was “extremely positive” for the national delegation, with highlights including the participation of Kaila da Cruz and Roan Shearer.

Kaila da Cruz competed in the 50-meter backstroke, the final women's event of the tournament for Cabo Verde.

The young swimmer recorded a time of 32.05 seconds, surpassing her personal best and placing 54th among 113 participating athletes.
