Praia, May 28 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde is hosting a meeting today in Praia to adapt the ECOWAS TIP+ International Human Trafficking Strategy to its national context, aiming to strengthen the prevention, protection and repression of human trafficking.
The event, which brings together national institutions and international experts, highlights the structural challenges and the urgent need for training and cooperation to tackle this organized crime.
The National Observatory on Trafficking in Persons, in collaboration with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), is promoting a three-day meeting in Cabo Verde to adapt the TIP+ Strategy (International Trafficking in Persons) to the Cape Verdean context.
This meeting, which will take place between 28 and 30 May, will include technical presentations, interactive debates and a questionnaire to gather information on the legislative and protection framework in the country. Around 30 participants from various institutions relevant to the fight against human trafficking will be present.
