Porto Novo, Apr 9 (Inforpress) - The Institute of Agrarian Sciences and Technologies (ICTA) in Santo Antão will bring its first 30 Agronomy and Zootechnics staff to the market in 2026, said the institute's secretary, Felizmina Reis.

The ICTA is an organisational unit of the Atlantic Technical University (UTA), which is already in its third year of operation.

Felizmina Reis, who was speaking at the meeting to socialise Porto Novo's strategic development plan, lamented, however, the ‘low take-up’ by young people in Santo Antão of the courses offered by the ICTA, arguing that there was a need for ‘greater dissemination’ of the educational establishment's training offers.

The same source also announced that ICTA, in partnership with the Friends of Nature Association (AAN) and the Centre of Rural Studies and International Agriculture (CERAI), will implement the Living Lands project in 2026, which will focus on promoting ecotourism in Santo Antão.
