Praia, Apr 7 (Inforpress) - The Minister of Justice said today in Praia that the government is working to reduce the waiting time for a court decision, with an estimated waiting time of 18 months.

The Minister of Justice made this statement to the press after the opening ceremony of the seminar for the public presentation of the project "Human rights, peace and access to justice", which took place at the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-Mindelo) in Palmarejo Grande.

According to the minister, the slow pace of justice in the country is still the system's ‘Achilles heel’, due to the number of pending cases, which is why she considers reducing the waiting time for a court decision to be important for citizens, companies and other stakeholders.

Joana Rosa assured that despite this challenge, the government has been working to reduce this waiting time so that an individual doesn't spend a long time or years waiting for a court decision, through various initiatives that the government wants and is implementing so that this has a more effective response.
