Ribeira Grande, Apr 7 (Inforpress) - The new work by Santo Antão artist Homero Fonseca, entitled ‘Tributo’, is already available in physical format in speciality stores in Santo Antão, and will soon be available throughout the country and in the diaspora.
In a note sent to Inforpress, the artist explained that this is his third album and the Tribute EP includes five mornas, four of which he wrote himself, and pays tribute to deceased loved ones, such as his father, mother, daughter and brother, as well as his aunt and uncle Antoninha and Jon do Carmo, who are still alive.
Preito de amor, according to the note, is a tribute to his father, Mário do Rosário Fonseca, also known as Nhô Mário.
'With this song, the composer pays tribute to his father, recognising an old ‘injustice’ in never having composed a morna in his honour while he was still alive, something he had done for his mother with the song Mãezinha Querida,' according to the statement.
