
Praia, Apr 2 (Inforpress) - Provisional Foreign Trade figures for 2024 indicate an increase in exports of around 40.7 percent compared to 2023 and a 2.0 percent increase in imports compared to the previous year, INE announced today.
According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), for the year 2024, the trade deficit increased by 0.8 per cent and the coverage rate increased by 1.2 percentage points (p.p.).
In 2024, the same source said, Cabo Verde's exports totalled 7,940 billion escudos, corresponding to a significant increase of 2,296 billion escudos (40.7%) compared to 2023.
‘In 2024, trade with Europe was characterised by an increase in exports, from 5,305 thousand contos in 2023 to 7,519 thousand contos (+2,213 thousand contos) in 2024, which represents a positive evolution of 41.7%,’ according to the press release.
