Praia, Apr 1 (Inforpress) - The Director General of Territorial Cohesion Policy said today that the training on the preparation, monitoring and implementation of projects in the municipalities of Cape Verde, taking place in Praia, is of “great importance” for the promotion of local development.
Gerson Sousa was speaking at the opening of the training on the preparation, monitoring and implementation of projects in the country's municipalities, which took place in one of the hotels in the country's capital.
The head of the Territorial Cohesion Policy also emphasised that municipalities equipped with this capacity will have the skills to promote better living conditions for people and make them live better lives, contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reducing regional asymmetries.
He added that it is also an opening for ‘excellent opportunities’ for municipalities to present projects, not only taking into account public funding, but also other types of funding.
