PAICV: Candidate Francisco Pereira awaits latest developments with ‘serenity and tranquillity’

Praia, Mar 31 (Inforpress) - Deputy Francisco Pereira, elected for the Europe constituency on the PAICV lists, candidate for party president, whose assembly initially scheduled for Sunday 30 was suspended by the Constitutional Court, awaits ‘with serenity’ the outcome of this event.

‘Our candidacy awaits the outcome of this process with serenity and tranquillity. The PAICV is a great party, a great heritage of Cape Verdeans and we will certainly know how to wait for the court's decision and abide by the decisions of Cape Verdean justice. In the meantime, we remain very calm, guided by the principles and values of the PAICV,’ Pereira told RCV.

The candidate ‘For a United and Strong PAICV. For More Cabo Verde’, revealed that his campaign team will continue on the ground to mobilise militants, pointing out that in the last two months his candidacy has been on the ground carrying out an “intense campaign” in the country and in the diaspora, and that he was already fully prepared for the elections.

‘We hope there will be a response soon from the Constitutional Court and also from our party bodies, so we will be as serene as possible, as serene as ever,’ he said, adding that he personally remains “convinced of victory, more and more” because he defines himself as “a strong link for the unity and cohesion of the party”.
