Parliament: Government announces investment of more than 400 thousand contos in rural women

Praia, Mar 26 (Inforpress) – Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva announced today that the Government will invest, over the next two years, more than 400 thousand contos in the implementation of hydro-agricultural projects and training actions aimed mainly at women in rural areas.

“Reducing the costs of education and professional training is a policy measure that benefits families, many of which are headed by women,” said the head of government.

Ulisses Correia e Silva made these considerations in the monthly debate with deputies, in which the theme was “Public policies aimed at women” and takes place on the eve of Cape Verdean Women's Day, March 27.

At a national level, the Prime Minister recognises that the unemployment and poverty rate is ‘higher among women’.
