Brava: Fishermen and fishmongers from Furna pleased with the modernisation of the ice production plant

Nova Sintra, 30 July (Inforpress) – Fishermen and fishmongers from the fishing community of Furna, on the island of Brava, today expressed their satisfaction with the modernisation of the ice-making plant, which now features new equipment and increased production capacity.

Speaking to Inforpress, fisherman Adelino Morais highlighted the importance of the new machine for the community, emphasising that ice is essential for preserving fish and benefits all those working in the fishing industry.

“In this area, ice is essential for preserving food. We used to have another machine, but it eventually broke down and today, thank goodness, a new, more powerful one has been installed to serve our community,” he said.

Segundo o pescador, a comunidade da Furna depende essencialmente da pesca, razão pela qual considera o equipamento de extrema importância.
