Praia, 23 June (Inforpress) – The 32nd edition of the Gamboa Festival, under the slogan “Aim High and Make It Happen – the future is ours”, has a budget of over 30,000 million escudos and pays tribute to the musician Romeu di Lurdis, the Councillor for Culture said today.
The information was revealed at a press conference by the Councillor for Culture at Praia City Council (CMP), Jorge Garcia, who stated that the choice of theme for this 32nd edition reflects the nation’s hopes for the performance of the Tubarões Azuis at the 2026 World Cup and the idea that collective effort can turn goals into results.
The event will take place over three days, 26, 27 and 28 June (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) in the city of Praia. On the first two days, activities will take place from 10.00 pm to 8.00 am, while on Sunday, dedicated to Gamboa Jovem, the festival will run from 4.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
One of the new features of this year’s event will be the transformation of Praia da Gamboa into a “huge fan zone”, in partnership with the public broadcaster Televisão de Cabo Verde, as the first day of the festival coincides with the national team’s decisive match.
