Praia, 22 June (Inforpress) – The president of the Cabo Verde Tourism Institute (ITCV) stated today that the international profile the country has achieved through its national team’s participation in the 2026 World Cup calls for a paradigm shift in the promotion of Cabo Verde as a destination.
Jair Fernandes stated that this projection will require Cabo Verde to invest more and have a stronger presence at international fairs and events related to tourism and investment.
In an interview with Inforpress, the official highlighted that the Tubarões Azuis' performance against teams like Spain and Uruguay has placed Cabo Verde in the "world spotlight," generating an "immediate increase" in demand for information about the archipelago on international digital platforms.
"Today we woke up to increased media coverage and demand not only for the national team, but also for Cabo Verde as a tourist destination," he stated.
