São Filipe, Feb 05 (Inforpress) – Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva gave a positive assessment of his two-days visit to the island of Fogo, marked by “intense actions and the fulfilment of commitments” made by the Government to the island.

While witnessing the signing of a set of protocols between the Government and the City of São Filipe, the final item on the agenda, the head of Government said that in just one and a half days it was possible to implement a wide range of initiatives, giving the impression of a much longer stay on the island.

Among the main achievements, he highlighted the inauguration of the new passenger terminal and the expansion of the São Filipe aerodrome, the paving of access roads, as well as the launch of the lighting system for the aerodrome access road, the cycle lane and the pedestrian walkway.

“The essential thing is that what we promised, we delivered,” said Ulisses Correia e Silva, adding that in just over a month the Government announced, signed and began implementing several protocols in São Filipe, Mosteiros and Santa Catarina do Fogo.
