Futsal: Cabo Verde and Egypt decide CAN 2026 qualification on Sunday in Cairo

Praia, Feb 05 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verde national futsal team faces Egypt this Sunday, the 8th, in Cairo, in the second leg of the decisive play-off for qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2026).

According to information released by the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) scheduled the match for 19:00 local time (16:00 in Cabo Verde), at Cairo Stadium Hall 2.

The match will determine which team qualifies for CAN 2026, after the first leg played on Tuesday, the 3rd, at the Tarrafal de Santiago Municipal Pavilion, ended in a 5–5 draw.

To reach this stage, Cabo Verde eliminated Senegal in the first qualifying round. Egypt, due to its continental ranking, entered directly in this second and final qualifying round.
