Mindelo, Oct 11 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde beat Liberia at home 1-0 this Sunday in a game for the fourth round of the World Cup 2022 qualifiers in football, thus consolidating second place in Group C.
Ryan Mendes was the scorer of the game in the 90th minute, and the 1.500 spectators goes wild, the game which took place at the Adérito Sena Stadium in Mindelo.
After the 2-1 victory on Wednesday, in the third round of the group, Cabo Verde won once again, this time at home, and brought joy to the fans, who back to the stand of “Adérito Sena” with songs of joy and batucada, after a period of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this victory Cabo Verde comes to depend on itself to get the qualification for the World Cup. Just win the remaining two games, one against the Central African Republic at home and the other one in Nigeria.
