Praia, Nov 19 (Inforpress) – The World Bank Director of Strategy and Operations for the Western and Central Africa region highlighted Cabo Verde’s “good performance” in combating the crisis, adding that a new financial package is planned.
Elisabeth Huybens, who is in Cabo Verde, made these remarks after being received on Thursday by Deputy Prime Minister Olavo Correia, stressing that the measures taken by the Government to tackle the pandemic and to minimize the effects of the crisis and reach the vaccination target in the country were very good.
For this responsible, the Cabo Verde good performance is an example not only in Africa, but worldwide, having anticipated that it is planned to increase funding to leverage the areas of tourism and human capital.
“We are working together on the new project that will help Cabo Verde and its economy to work on transforming the economy to strengthen tourism, youth skills, the digital economy and strengthen networks for the most disadvantaged,” said Elisabeth Huybens.
