Weightlifting: Federation calls it an “assertive” measure to close sports activities

Praia, May 4 (Inforpress) – The Weightlifting Cabo Verdean Federation considered this Monday “assertive” the government’s measure to close all sports facilities, and consequently the prohibition of the sports activities, to “save health”.

At a time when there is an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in the country, the president of the Weightlifting Cabo Verdean Federation (FCH), Bino Santos, said to Inforpress that “the most important” from now on, is “to save people’s health and try to control and reduce contagion as much as possible” by the sar-cov2 virus in the country.

“We see this measure as a very well taken and assertive position and we promise to resume activities as soon as the conditions are acceptable, because people’s lives are first, above all,” Bino Santos said.

He stated, however, that the FCH had not scheduled any competition for the next two months, so the sport will not be much affected at this point, since with the reopening of sports activities the Federation held in March and April the regional and national championships of Powerlifting’2021.
