Praia, Mar 1 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Service of Civil Protection and Firefighters (SNPCB), Domingos Tavares, defended today that civil protection is a task and a job for all, hence justifying that Cabo Verde has prevention work is prioritized.
The official was speaking to Inforpress, regarding the World Civil Protection Day, which is marked this Wednesday, March 1, noting that this celebration means, for the national system, the renewal of a commitment to the protection of life.
Usually, according to Domingos Tavares, the SNPCB’s work has been mainly in the pre-hospital, also pointing out cases of fires and floods, so that the work of raising awareness in the communities has been valued.
“We have always been raising people’s awareness so that they become aware”, said the president of the SNPCB, for whom the population must understand that civil protection is everyone’s task and work and that the first prevention begins with citizens.
