Volleyball: Cabo Verde Women’s Volleyball coach resigns

Praia, April 11 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verde women’s volleyball coach, the Italian  Orazio Minnecci, has resigned on Wednesday alleging “unacceptable interference” by the federation in the work of the coaching staff.

In a message sent to athletes of the sport, the Italian coach condemns the Cabo Verdean Volleyball Federation (FCV) for requesting the convening of two unselected athletes and the replacement of the assistant coaches.

Minnecci abandoned the national team at a time when Cabo Verde is preparing to host at Praia City the qualifiers for Zone 2 of the Higher Council of Sports in Africa to access to the 2018 World Cup, a competition in which the country is fighting so much in Male and female.

The outgoing coach said goodbye to the athletes, saying that it was “an honor” to work with the national sport federation, which in his view had been doing a good job.
