Visa facilitation agreement between Cabo Verde and the European Union enters into force from today

Praia, Jul 1 (Inforpress) – The short-stay visa facilitation agreement between Cabo Verde and the European Union enters into force from today, after the necessary internal procedures have been completed between the parties.

The Press Release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released last May explains that this new agreement contains provisions that significantly facilitate the mobility of Cabo Verdeans in the territory of the European Union, with emphasis on reducing the fees paid for the processing of visa applications.

The same source added that this initiative provides for the extension of categories of persons receiving multiple-entry visas, simplification of procedures and evidence to be submitted.

The agreement shall also, according to the same source, make possible the establishment of a mechanism determining the duration of the validity of multiple entry visas, and a clause allowing the agreement or parts thereof to be suspended for reasons relating to the lack of cooperation in the area of readmission.
