Victims of GBV now receive free assistance from the Psychological Support Centre

Praia, Jun 2 (Inforpress) – Victims of gender-based violence now benefit from free assistance in all areas of expertise of the Psychological Support Center, thanks to the protocol signed today between ICIEG and the said center.

The protocol, according to the Cape Verdean Institute for Gender Equality (ICIEG), aims mainly to strengthen collaboration ties with CAP, through the provision of support to victims of gender-based violence (GBV).

With the protocol, said the president of ICIEG, Marisa Carvalho, they will be assured free assistance in all specialty areas of the Psychological Support Center (CAP), including psychological care.

“It marks the turning point of assistance to victims of gender-based violence and their dependents. The Psychological Support Center gives us all the guarantees with its professionals and their care so that psychological assistance is really assured to the victims and their dependents”, he explained.
