UNTC-CS denounces precariousness in Public Administration and threatens to stop participating in Social Dialogue Council

Praia, Oct 4 (Inforpress) – The Secretary General of UNTC-CS denounced Monday situations of job precariousness in the Public Administration, stating that the Union Central will consider not participating in the Social Dialogue Council (CCS) “just to be present”.

The trade unionist, who was speaking at a press conference in the city of Praia, considered that there are “structural problems” that should have already been solved and whose solution has never been beyond promises.

“I’m talking about promotions, progressions and reclassifications frozen since 2013, for lack of performance assessment. It is important to define clearly the performance assessment criteria for public service providers in order to avoid the stagnation in the promotion and progression of public officials”, she said.

Joaquina Almeida also said it was clear that the Government only has to gain from solving this problem, because it increases the motivation of civil servants.
