Praia, Jan 6 (Inforpress) – The secretary general of the National Union of Workers of Cabo Verde – Central Union (UNTC-CS) today called the Government “arrogant”, “which has failed to fulfil its obligations” in the agreements that it initials, not available for dialogue with social partners and “insensitive” to workers’ problems.
Joaquina Almeida spoke in statements to Inforpress, as a balance sheet for the year ended, where she considered that 2020 was a year of many demands, a lot of struggle, demonstrations and strikes all over the country.
It classified the year ended as “difficult and black” for everyone, from a socio-professional, economic and health point of view.
First, due to COVID-19 pandemic that brought “huge losses” in all sectors of activity, especially in the tourism sector, with “terrible” consequences for workers, many of whom lost their jobs and others have had reduced wages. On the other hand, because of the breaking all promises made by the Government, led by Ulisses Correia e Silva.
