Unpublished work with collection of poems by Amílcar Cabral translated into Italian launched Thursday in Italy

Rome, Jan 23 (Inforpress) – “Rosa Negra – vinte poemas para um mundo melhor” (Black Rose – twenty poems for a better world), is the title of the selection of 20 poems by Amílcar Cabral made in a book to be launched Thursday in Rome, Italy, by the library “Casa delle traduzioni”.

It is, according to a press release, the first edition in Italian, with original text in Portuguese, of a collection of poems by Amílcar Cabral, who until now only knew the political writings of the 60s and 70s.

The introduction of the book was made by Manuel Amante da Rosa and the two prefaces by Francesco Marrocu and Marco Bucaioni, with the photographs by Bruna Polimeni.

The revenues from the sale of the book will be used to fund the Amílcar Cabral Study Grant, created by the NCC-CCN (Network Cultural Caboverdian-Cultural Network) to support the university education of young Italian-Cabo Verdeans, which is in its fourth edition.
