Uni-CV/Elections: Winning candidate highlights “massive participation” in the electoral process

Praia, Jan 21 (Inforpress) – The winner of the elections for the office of Rector of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), José Arlindo Barreto, highlighted in statements to the press, in his first intervention after the vote, the “massive participation” in the electoral process.

“The data we have indicates that there was a massive vote, at least of the teachers and staff, of the students we would like there to be more participation, but I think it is an example in these times,” José Arlindo Barreto told the press. He said there was a “good mobilization” of people, so he and his team are “very happy” with this involvement.

From now on, he stressed, is working to fix the house, counting on the contribution of all to develop the institution and also make contribution to the country.

“I’m happy, I’m very happy with the work produced by the members of the group, with the way the debates went, I received a lot of congratulations, I think the other candidates as well. Here I would like to congratulate those who participated in these debates too, Maria de Lourdes Gonçalves and Odair Varela, for their willingness to reflect and work for the academy”, he added.
