Ulisses Correia e Silva expects presidential elections to clarify the situation in Venezuela

Praia, Feb 8 (Inforpress) – The prime minister said he hopes the presidential elections would clarify the political crisis situation in Venezuela, which has become more acute after Juan Guaidó invoked the constitution to become Interim President against Nicólas Maduro.

Ulisses Correia e Silva, who was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the presentation of the Electricity Mobility Policy, said that Cabo Verde’s position is to find a way to normalize the economic, social and political situation in that country that will go through elections, namely presidential elections.

“Any effort made in this direction, any mediations made for us and for Cabo Verde will be beneficial in the sense of finding a peaceful solution”, said Ulisses Correia e Silva.

Urged to talk about the situation of Cabo Verdean students living in Venezuela, the Prime Minister assured that Cabo Verde has been giving the necessary support to these students for some time and some of them returned to the country with government support.
