UCID asks the PR to wait until publication of the elections final results before to designate the Prime Minister

Mindelo, Apr 22 (Inforpress) – The president of the Cabo Verdean Independent and Democratic Union (UCID), who ran in the legislative of the 18th,  asked Wednesday the  President of the Republic to wait until the publication of the elections final results before to designate the Prime Minister.

According to António Monteiro, who was speaking at a press conference in Mindelo after a videoconference meeting with the President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, there are “rumors to be clarified” about the counting of votes in the islands of Santo Antão and Sal.

Moreover, the overall clearance of the legislative elections results is not yet completed on all the islands.

“In Santo Antão, according to information we had, the data were poorly released and there was a polling station in Lombo de Santa in which the minutes had a fact which is out of reality, and in view of these situations, with these rumors, we wanted to have time to analyze first and only then position ourselves”, explained the re-elected MP, for whom, “in the area of Formiguinhas there are also differences in the number of voters in the UCID, so there may be other situations.”
