Santa Maria, Sept 3 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, said Cabo Verde is on track to get off the red list for the UK tourism, one of the main tourists source to Cabo Verde.
Ulisses Correia e Silva, who spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the 64th meeting of the UNWTO Regional Commissions in Africa, highlighted the steps taken in terms of vaccination for immunization of the population and other actions developed over time to transform the Sal Island and Cabo Verde into a safe destination.
“Cabo Verde is on a good path. It is noted that at the local level we are already reaching 70% of the vaccinated population, we want to reach 80% by the end of October. Islands like Sal are already at levels above 70%. We have islands which have already reached 100%,” the ruler said.
In addition to vaccination, Cabo Verde has long been preparing to become the Sal Island and Cabo Verde a safe destination from a health point of view, namely by issuing the quality seal certificate, training staff operating in the tourism sector, among other actions.
