Tour operators defend bet on domestic tourism and ask for more independence in the post-covid

Praia, Jun 29 (Inforpress) – National tour operators warn on the need to work on domestic tourism, as a way of giving more independence to this activity in the post-covid period, although it is insufficient to suppress the number of foreign tourists visiting the country.

This is the result of two videoconferences organized this Saturday by the Tourism Association of Santiago and the Travel and Tourism Agencies Association of Cabo Verde (AAVT), following other meetings held on all islands, which continues on Monday morning with operators from Sal Island.

Forty-three businessmen from Santiago and 16 from Boa Vista (Cabo Verdeans and foreigners) expressed their concerns at these meetings and put forward some guidelines to complement the measures already implemented by the executive, with relevance for internal mobility between the islands.

In taking stock of these meetings, the president of the Santiago Tourism Association, Eugénio Inocêncio, considered to Inforpress that, in general, with few exceptions, it is necessary to adopt an internal mobility policy between islands, maritime and air, similar to what happens in other archipelagos, such as the Azores.
