Praia, Aug 5 (Inforpress) – Gymnast Márcia Lopes closes this morning at 12:20AM at the Ariake Gymnastics Center, Cabo Verde’s participation in the Tokyo Olympic Games, taking place from July 24 to August 8 in Japan.
The Cabo Verdean athlete, who secured her presence at the games through a wild-card (invitation) formalized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), arrived on Monday, the 2nd, in Japan, accompanied by coach Elena Atmacheva.
Márcia Lopes will compete with 26 athletes and move to the final the top ten ranked in the series of bow, ball, apples and ribbons.
Jayla Pina and Troy Pina (swimming), Sandrine Billiet (Judo), Jordin Andrade (athletics) and David Pina (boxing) have already made their respective Olympic debuts, but have failed to make it to the next round. This is Cabo Verde’s largest delegation at the Olympic Games, now referred to as “Team Cabo Verde”.
