The perception of corruption considerably increases in Cape Verde, reveals a study by Afrosondagem

City of Praia, 19 Jan. (Inforpress) – The ninth afrobarometer survey revealed a considerable increase in the perception of corruption in Cape Verde, with the National Police referred to by respondents as the most corrupt institution, while the Armed Forces appear to be the most credible.

According to data released today by José Semedo, the Director General of Afrosondagem, the institution that leads the afrobarometer team in Cabo Verde, there was a considerable increase in the perception of corruption in the country in all institutions surveyed in relation to 2019.

The National Police continues to lead the list of institutions identified by 25 % of Cape Verdeans as the most corrupt, followed by the National Assembly, which is 24%, by the Presidency of the Republic and by the Prime Minister.

According to studies, 20% of the population consider that most or all members of these institutions are involved in acts of corruption, with 47% of respondents considering that there has been an increase in cases of corruption.
