Praia, April 17 (Inforpress) – The President of the National Association of Cabo Verdean Municipalities (ANMCV), Manuel de Pina, today defended that the local authorities have the responsibility to combat “anarchic constructions”, under the penalty of jeopardize the future generations.
The president of the ANMCV made these statements to the press in the margins of the opening act a set of training addressed to the mayors and leaders of the 22 municipalities of the country.
“We are going to start a campaign of awareness and mobilization for the population, with a view to having the Cabo Verdean people become aware of issues that could jeopardize our future,” said Manuel de Pina.
The European Union ambassador to Cabo Verde, Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, called attention to “certain details” that should merit the attention of the local authorities, otherwise, he said, they could, for example, jeopardize the development of tourism.
