Praia, Jan 12 (Inforpress) – The tenth and last edition of the Republic Week that runs from January 13 to 20 addresses the current topic “The global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic”, as well as “The construction democracy process in Africa”.
Republic Week, commemorating the days of Freedom and Democracy and National Heroes, has been going on since 2012. The head of the Presidency’s Civil House, Manuel Faustino, said at a press conference on the Republic Week program, the event is the “mark of mandates” and one of “the important contributions” by the President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca.
This will be the tenth and last edition to be held, since Jorge Carlos Fonseca’s term ends next October, having pointed out that the event may be resumed, but in “different ways”.
As Manuel Faustino indicated, the tenth and last edition of Republic Week will start this Wednesday, the 13rd, at 10:00 am in the National Assembly with the speech by the President of the Republic at the Solemn Commemorative Day of Freedom and Democracy Day and the program ends on the 20th.
