Tarrafal of São Nicolau, Jul 19 (Inforpress) – The spraying campaign to combat mosquito and malaria prevention in Tarrafal of São Nicolau is underway “in the best way,” a health official told Inforpress on Thursday.
As a result of the six-month campaign, Antony Soares told Inforpress that one of the mosquito’s biggest problems in the municipality is the construction of houses and sanitary facilities.
Tarrafal is considered as a city under construction with large outbreaks of mosquitoes, and since the city does not yet have a sewage network the solution is related to place nets for breath in the septic tanks, for now, to eliminate mosquitoes.
“We had started by spraying, but spraying is no solution to mosquitoes, so we have now chosen to start nets of the septic tanks to see that if we can reduce mosquito exiting,” he said.
