Praia, Dec 5 (Inforpress) – Deputy Secretary of State of Minister of State Carlos Monteiro assured that the State Budget (OE) for 2020 will allow leverage segments within the sports sector.
Carlos Monteiro, who was heard by Parliament’s Specialized Committee on Education, Culture, Health, Youth, Sport and Social Affairs, said Wednesday that the 2020 Budget has been on the same track as it has been in the sector since 2017, with a focus on changing paradigms of Cabo Verdean sport, laying the foundations that will allow sustainability.
“From this perspective, the whole legislative framework is being revised, as well as the establishment of several programs that strengthen the sector at all levels, not only programs related to physical activity, high performance sport, strengthening of federations, bet on training, but also definitely give the sector the institutional strength,” he said.
All of this, he said, will enable the sector to “sustainably” have greater revenues not only in this legislature but also in the future.
The minister indicated the creation of the Institute of Sport and Youth, whose law will be sent this week for the promulgation, which, according to him, will strengthen the relationship between the Government, the institutions and sports actors.
