Praia, Nov 22 (Inforpress) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance said that 10% of State Budget, about 7.4 million escudos, is transferred directly to Cabo Verdean families with charges for health, payment of pensions and scholarships.
The confirmation was made by Olavo Correia e Silva this Thursday, during his speech at the opening ceremony of the training workshop on “Capacity Building of National Public Institutions on Policy Planning and Implementation in a Human Rights-Based Approach”, which is taking place in Praia, November 21 and 22.
According to the ruler, out of the 73 billion escudos of the State Budget, 7.4 million are dedicated exclusively to citizens with health, family allowance, pensions, various social benefits, social inclusion planning, transfer to NGOs and scholarships.
“Cabo Verde has been making a huge effort to promote the person. Today we invest in OE 73 billion escudos of global spending, 50% of which goes directly to the promotion of people, education, health, safety, citizenship, but also in the promotion of water and territorial development,” said the official who said that few states worldwide do this.
