Praia, Sep 26 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Health will participate Friday at a high-level meeting in Seychelles on “Addressing the common health challenges faced by Small Island Developing States in African Region “.
At the meeting, chaired by WHO Regional Director Matshidiso Moeti, according to a press release will address themes on new developments in common challenges related to health care, health financing, universal health coverage (CUS), nutrition and infant mortality.
Issues related to illicit drug abuse, diabetes prevention and treatment, vector-borne disease management and disaster management will also be discussed.
According to information from the World Health Organization (WHO), the meeting will be attended by the Ministers of Health of Cabo Verde, Comoros, Mauritius, Sao Tome and Principe and Seychelles, the Executive Director of UNAIDS, and representatives of the agencies including Cabo Verde will address ways of strengthening collaboration among SIDS in the African Region.
