Praia, Jan 6 (Inforpress) – Workers at the service station Shell in Chã de Areia, in Praia, met Wednesday with the General Labour Inspectorate to address alleged illegalities by the management of the Vivo Energy.
Speaking to Inforpress, the spokesman for the workers, Joaquim Leal, explained that the management changed the manager “without any justification” to the employees, also stressing that the new management is considering to celebrate a new contract, “even for people with 30 years of work” at that company.
“Others have 32 years of service, another one 25, so the situation is complicated,” he demonstrated. The same source indicated “several illegalities” as accumulation of vacation and salary frozen for 14 years.
“The situation is chaotic and the stores are all closed,” he revealed, noting that today, at Shell in Chã de Areia, only gas stations are functioning. The workers want the General Labour Inspectorate to take some action taking into account that the management wants to establish a new contract, even for people with 30 years of service.
