City of Praia, 25 May (Inforpress) – The Universidade Sénior de Cabo Verde (UniSénior), Fundação Amílcar Cabral and ACOLPE paid a posthumous tribute today to Corsino Tolentino, a former diplomat, academic and Minister of Education.
Speaking to the press, the president of UniSénior, Crispina Gomes, explained that the tribute is due to the fact that Corsino Tolentino, during his lifetime, “gave visibility” to the African continent, with reflections and teachings, hence the event took place on Africa Day, 25 May, 25 May.
“Thinking about everything he did, the Senior University decided that it was a duty to pay this tribute, at the headquarters of the Amílcar Cabral Foundation, where he was administrator”, he said, noting that Corsino Tolentino was a “great scholar, diplomat and ruler”.
On behalf of the family, Hércules Cruz said that the tribute has an “enormous symbolic value” since Corsino Tolentino’s life path includes knowledge that can contribute to the development of future generations and the country.
