Praia, Jul 19 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Music Society (SCM) recently signed in Tunisia dozens of reciprocal agreements with African Collective Management Entities (EGCs), allowing the representation of its members “throughout most of African countries”, starting in August.
Solange Cesarovna, who is in Tunis, Tunisia, where she participated from 16 to 17 at the African Committee of CISAC (CAF) meeting, in a statement sent to Inforpress on Thursday, she said that the meeting served to sign agreements with African Collective Management Entities (EGCs).
“SCM has prepared and executed dozens of contracts, based on the fairer reciprocity agreement model developed by the CAF legal body, which aims to safeguard African EGCs and their members in their interrelationships with best legal practices and there is now a cutting-edge, effective and comprehensive legal instrument that ultimately unites African EGCs,” she said.
She added that these agreements will allow SCM to represent “hundreds of thousands” members from August and SCM’s members will be represented “throughout most of African countries”.
