Praia, Jul 14 (Inforpress) – The young Cabo Verdean transsexual Sasha Montez, who will represent the African continent in the Miss International Queen contest, in February 2021 in Thailand, sees this participation as a chance to improve the conditions of the LGBTIQ + community in Cabo Verde.

Speaking to Inforpress, the 27-year-old began by saying that it is “an honor” to be able to represent Cabo Verde and the African continent and she sees this invitation as a chance to contribute “better” to the LGBTIQ + community conditions in the country on issues such as health and access to employment.

“I am anxious and afraid. I trust 100% in myself and in African beauty, but we all know that candidates from other countries are already better prepared.
That is why I am counting on the support of our government and other institutions so that I can go prepared too,” she said.

Sasha Montez, who is considered a reference in the LGBTQ + community in Cabo Verde, also recalled that any miss contest in the world has an entry fee and, therefore, this will be no different. This African continent and Cabo Verde representative, also said that due the high expenses she hopes the “maximum support” possible.
