São Vicente: Temporary dockworkers protest at gates of Porto Grande demanding cuts in benefits

Mindelo, Jun 6 (Inforpress) – About two dozen temporary dockers at Enapor protested today at the gates of Porto Grande, in São Vicente, asking for “more rights” such as social security and more safety at work.

The group decided to take advantage of the moment when the new building was inaugurated to house the facilities for workers and port labor and shouted “more rights” to the president of the port management company, Ireneu Camacho, and to the minister of see, Abraao Vicente.

According to the spokesperson, Gilberto Gil Mariano, four years ago they were cut off from social security when there were already people aged 10-15 years to be discounted and nothing was said again.

“Neither have we been compensated nor have we been inducted within the company,” he launched.
