Mindelo, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – A sports festival for athletes with disabilities, which takes place Saturday, the 4th, in the Enapor park, in Mindelo, starts the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the South Atlantic Air Crossing, starring Sacadura Cabral and Gago Coutinho.
This information was announced Wednesday at a press conference in Mindelo by the organizers who explained that the “Cabo Verde Caminhos da História Travessia 100” project results from a combination of efforts of Cabo Verdean journalist Ildo Rocha and electrotechnical engineer Portuguese João Moura, and foresees to hold various activities until August 2022.
Under the theme “See the skill and not the disability”, the sports festival, which will be organized by SpotsMidia, includes events such as javelin and launch of weight, in the Laginha beach, a race of three thousand meters, whose start will be in the Enapor park, then passes by Avenida Marginal, Rua de Lisboa and Baltazar Lopes da Silva streets, Fonte de Meio, Technical School and completion in the Enapor park.
According to the head of SportsMedia, Cardoso da Silva, the activities will be supported by six military guides, taking into account that the athletes who will participate are blind.
