Mindelo, Mar 16 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic assured this Thursday, in Mindelo, that he will try to mobilize partnerships and support to help the community of Ribeira Bote, which he considered “historic” and with contributions to Cape Verde before and after the independence.
José Maria Neves, who is in São Vicente, visited the area today, this afternoon.A visit that he said was part of his “effort” to be with communities, churches and universities in order to feel the pulse of society and of the municipalities.
In this sense, the Head of the State made a tour of the headquarters of some associations and groups, including the mandinga, where he was amazed at the smallness of the backyard, and the Sports Club of Ribeira Bote, and finally a meeting with the community leaders.
During the activity, José Maria Neves praised the area that he considered to have a “huge name” since independence, in the fight for democracy, despite the “various difficulties” and, even so, an “organized community”
After receiving some requests for support, he assured that he is willing to mobilize partnerships and support to help different local institutions to face the challenges in this needy community.
