Mindelo, Mar 15 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe said today he was “very emotional” to receive the key to the city of Mindelo, whose “images and echoes” have come to his country for several generations.
Carlos Vila Nova, who also received the key to the City of Praia last Monday 13, also takes home the key to the city of Mindelo, delivered at the end of the morning today by the mayor of São Vicente, Augusto Neves.
A distinction that he considered to be a “special moment” and that “greatly honors” the State of São Tomé and himself, in particular, “very emotional” for the “echoes and images that arrive from the beautiful country” to São Tomé and Príncipe.
“But these images are the result of a relationship of many generations, of an experience between people of São Tome and Príncipe and Cape Verdeans, who have lived with us for many years”. Maintained Carlos Vila Nova, for whom the two countries share much, including “rich stories” of Mindelo.
