São Vicente: PM aspires for an inclusive and sustainable blue economy and accelerates economic growth

Mindelo, Nov 17 (Inforpress) – Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva said in Mindelo that he wants an inclusive and sustainable blue economy as an “important accelerator” of economic growth and a “catalyst” for greater economic resilience, more jobs and well-being for the population.

Ulisses Correia e Silva made these statements this Monday, at the opening of the 3rd edition of Cabo Verde Ocean Week (CVOW), which runs until Friday, November 20, in São Vicente, with online transmission to international participants.

According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, the blue economy “is a major priority” for Cabo Verde in its various aspects, in terms of knowledge, innovation, research and development, food security and economically”.

The prime minister recalled that Cape Verde is 99 percent (%) sea and, therefore, “transforming the sea into a blue economy is a great challenge” for his government, which is on the 20-30 agenda.
